What to do if you are a Care Worker

So that you can receive the best support and organise effectively with your comrades the first step is to join a union that can protect you legal rights to organise as a member of PAWA and provide you with relevant advice. PAWA is partnered with the IWW union so the first step is to to join IWW.

If you get stuck please contact us and we will help you work it out.

Once you have become a member of IWW you will be contacted by your local IWW branch who can help you with the following kinds of support:

  1. Organiser training to start building a union in your workplace with your colleagues.
  2. Union representation in the workplace for disciplinaries and grievances. Training is available if you want to support other workers by becoming an IWW representative.
  3. Support from your local branch and the IWW Care Workers Organising Network to build power and tackle issues alongside other workers across the industry.
  4. Be part of a community of workers fighting back against injustices in the workplace and society. An injury to one is an injury to all!
  5. Material support and resources paid for by union dues. We don’t use paid organisers or bureaucrats in the IWW. Decisions are made by the workers ourselves and your money goes back into the projects you care about.
